Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between therapy and life coaching?
Therapy focuses more on mental and emotional healing while life coaching focuses on setting and achieving goal. Therapy is a great space for improving well being, healing relationships, and navigating clinical issues like depression and anxiety. Life coaching is wonderful for optimizing ability to achieve goals, learn new strategies for managing and achieving goals, and having personal accountability in navigating obstacles related to your goals.
What if my partner/family doesn’t want to come?
It is discouraging when you want your partner/family to join you in the process of therapy or coaching. It is best to respect their boundary and allow them to decide for their self when they are ready.
In the meantime, this could be a great opportunity for you to begin working on yourself. This could lead to opportunities for you to positively impact your how you are treated in those relationships.
What do I do if I decide to cancel or change my mind about therapy/coaching?
You are welcome to make that decision at anytime, as it is natural that sometimes we are not a good match or we have done all the work we need to together. Feel empowered at all times to make choices that are right for you.
For cancellations, please communicate with your therapist as soon as possible and be sure to read and ask questions about the cancellation policy with your therapist/coach.
Do you take insurance?
Embolden Therapy Solutions is an “out of network” practice. Here is some helpful information:
Most insurance companies will provide partial or full coverage for services rendered by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Psychotherapy is an allowable expense for your Health Spending Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Many clients pay for their services out of pocket and then submit a claim (Super Bill) to their insurance provider or HSA/FSA to receive reimbursement for out-of-network coverage. Embolden Therapy Solutions is happy to provide monthly Super Bills for this purpose. Most plans offer about 60-80% reimbursement, but check with your insurance company for your specific benefits.
How long does therapy/coaching sessions take?
Individual therapy sessions and life coaching sessions typically last 1 hour. Couple and family sessions typically last 90-minutes. Clients can book more time based upon the hourly rate.
Do you help BIPOC/LGBTQIA+ individuals?
All are welcome here! Embolden Therapy Solutions will never discriminate based upon any standards.
How many sessions does therapy last?
Therapy can go for as long as you need it. Unlike traditional standards used by insurance (between 8-12 sessions), you can work with Brandon to determine when you’re ready to move on.
